A Personal Thanks to our Listeners

Radionomy has informed us that they will be ceasing their operations in the USA at the end of this month, so we have begun to wind down Holy Nativity Radio.

I would like to thank all the listeners who have supported us over these last months, and I hope that it has opened up for you a wonderful world of Catholic sacred music. I know it definitely has for me.

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart, and may God bless you,

-Claudio

Quanno Nascette Ninno (Carol of the Bagpipers)

One of the more interesting selections we'll be highlighting during Christmastide is Quanno nascette ninno (When the babe was born) a pastoral or shepherds' song in the Neapolitan dialect from southern Italy.  The melody is known in English as the Carol of the Bagpipers, and from its original use among the zampognari of southern Italy it has also become a favorite of Celtic bagpipers as well.

The lyrics were written by St. Alphonsus Liguori, who served as bishop of Naples, and the song served as the inspiration for the better-known Italian Christmas carol Tu scendi dalle stelle.

Merry Christmas!!!

We wish all our listeners a merry and blessed Christmastide!

We are now featuring a number of chants, hymns, carols, and traditional songs for Christmastide—as the secular world prepares to race on to another commercial holiday we are delighted to pause and bask in the Incarnation of Our Lord.

Ad Situation Resolved

I am delighted to report that the ad agency has removed the offensive ad from the station, allowing us to live up to our name and enjoy beautiful Christmas music with all the joy and peace of the season. Thank you for sticking with us during this trying time. If you hear any other ads with objectionable content, please let me know ASAP.

In the meantime, I will post an update soon on the exciting new selections we'll be airing during Christmastide. Have a wonderful remainder of the season, and may God's blessings be with all of you.

Our hearts' joy reclineth in Presepio!

A Personal Apology to Listeners

For many weeks now we have been happy to provide beautiful, uplifting sacred music, and the ads, while annoying, were morally unobjectionable and seemed a small price to pay for the programming.

Now it seems that Radionomy is running disgustingly perverse ads that are not even appropriate for commercial secular radio—let alone this channel that it supposed to lift one’s soul to  God.

I am looking into what can be done about this and will report back. Hopefully there is some way that I can prevent them from ever playing on the station again.

In the meantime—and it breaks my heart to say this—I would not let your children listen to the station.

Again, my profound apologies.
